Terras Gauda

 2035

Poster  ·  Packaging  ·  Merchandise Design

The Francisco Mantecón International Poster Design Competition is an annual event established by the Terras Gauda winery, in honor of graphic designer and artist Francisco Mantecón.

The competition tasks participants with creating a poster design that can be used as packaging for Terras Gauda's wines and marketing materials until the next year's competition.

I drew inspiration from Matisse's use of bold colors and simplified forms to create my poster design. I created little wine bottles and fish to represent the winery and celebrate its city's - Vigo, Spain - thriving fishing industry.

I also expanded the design onto possible packaging and marketing materials to explore how the design could be applied to the different applications the winery would create.

the competition:

the solution:

I took inspiration from art history and Matisse to create my poster design and expanded the work onto possible packaging and marketing materials.
